The Pahiatua Borough Council decided at its meeting last night to adopt a. scheme of armour scaling for resealing a. portion of Main Street (from the County Corner to the Commercial Motel) as suggested by the Highways Board, and if the experiment proves successful, the remaining portions of the street will be similarly treated. The work is to be put in hand as soon as possible.

Prior to the commencement of business at last niglit’s Council meeting the Mayor referred to. the death of the late King George, and moved a motion, seconded by Cr. Siddells. which was carried as under with members standing in silence: “That this Council expresses its deep regret at the death of King George V. and expresses its sympathy with the members of the Koval Family.”
