YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS. DEM OX ST R ATIOX S FO R FEBRUARY 26. On Tue-dav afternoon, a mooting of- the Ballanc-e and Mangatainoka Young Farmers’ Clubs was hold m the office of Mr J. A. Walsh. Mr J. H. Bremner (vice- jnesident ol the Balianee club) presided over a fair attendance. The chairman said that last year Balianee held a field day and it had been verv successful. As they were trying to keep the idea and young farmers' movement alive this year tliey had discussed the idea ot holding a combined day at some central was then decided to hold a special field day on February 2bth, <*n the showground. T\lr C Wilton said that there would be no difficulty in obtaining the showground from the Rugby Union although, of course, formal application would need to be made. Mr Bremner said he thought that the showgrounds would be an ideal spot as whole -families would be able to attend the field day and make a niciiic of the event. . Mr AY. Holdaway was appointed secretary foe the special field day. East year the demonstration- wore on ploughing. Jersey stock, horse throwing and Romney sheep bi ceding points. ~ , . , Mr Bremner said he did not think; that more than lour demonstrations could be comfortably handled in one dav and alter considerable di-i u-sion it was decided to have demonstrations this year on: (1) Southdown sheep (by Mr C. E. \ lie. of Bulls); (2) pigs (by Air Gorin nge, pig instructor of the Department ol Agriculture, Wellington); (3) How to train a dog .by Air R. J. Ala. Donald, of Danncvirke) ; (4) Jersey cows (bv Air H. IT. Phillips, of Te Kehu'nga, or if Air Phillips is unavailable. by Air Alartin Alurray. of Woodville). Air J. H. Bremner moved that the High School boys lie invited. —Agreed to. , Arrangements were then made to have the pig and sheep demonstrations in the morning and the cow and dog demonstrations in the afterAll Young Farmers' Clubs in the Wairarapa art* to be invited nd it was decided to have the first event at 1(1 a.m., with the luncheon interval from 12.30 until 1.30. Arrangements were then discussed for procuring the necessary animals for the demonstrations.
