X>R. CUNNINGHAM TO CONTINUE Electric Telegraph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. Last Night. Dr. G. H. Cunningham, who recently resigned his position in charge of the Plant Research station a.fc Palmerston North, will continue liis services at the station, said Hon. D. G. Sullivan to-day. Air Sullivan said the Government had been impressed with the increasing need for attention to scientific research in the problems, of prcfTectieii ol plants from disease, and in addition to the improvements to the facilities at the Plant Research Station at Palmerston. arrangements have been made for a continuance of Dr Cunning-
ham’s services. This news, Mr Sullivan said, would TiO doubt be welcomed by the various agricultural and fruit interests which had made representations to the Government on the subject. Some months ago Dr. Cunningham had intimated his desire to resign from, the Government service with a view to proceeding with work overseas, but because of the improved facilities, Dr. Cunningham had now sigT *d his desire to continue with the in his research in plant diJ&ases and arrangements have been made by the Public Service Commissioner accordingly.
