CRICKET AT MANGATAINOKA.

Local xi. defeat rarraud AND ABRAHAM.

Last week-end, the Mangatainoka cricketers played the visiting eleven of Messrs Barra ud and Abraham, and scored a win by 77 runs. The visitors had a good lead in the first innings, but were unable to keep the runs down when Mangatainoka went in .for their second strike. J. Holtliam and Murch each put on 38* for the local side’s second innings. Had Spellman been able to repeat bis first innings performance (when he took nine wickets for 18 runs) the score might have been vastly different. The visitors were entertained in the customary manner, and everyone spent an enjoyable day. Scores: BARRAUD AND ABRAHAM (First Innings). J. Donovan. Ibw b Small (J T. Louisson. c Taylor, b Small 7 B.
