“HIPS, HIPS, HOORAY”

WHEELER AND WOOLLEY’. An epic in “goofigandering” with delightful insanity made to seem reasonable by the inimitable Wheeler and Woolsey, “Hips. Hips, Hooray" will make its bow to-night at the Ring’s Theatre as an RKik Radio musical extravaganza, with lots of beautiful girls, hit tunes, original dances and spectacular moments, m the most i retentions production yet co-starring these comedians. Lavislmess is maintained in cast as well a & production for Thelma Todd. Ruth Etting, Dorothy Lee:, Adele Thomas, and Jean Connors supply supporting talent for the two clowns : and for those who like entertainment spiced with femininity on a grand scale, more than 100 beauties —blonde, brunette and red-head—ca-vort about in places ranging from the office off a beauty shop to place glass bath tubs. "Hips. Hips. Hooray” offers Wheeler and Woolsey as peddlers of flavoured lip-sticks, with varieties ranging from vanilla to raspberry. The clowning pair meet Thelma Todd and Dorothy Lee, proprietors of a million-dollar cosmetic corporation suffering from business depression and within a very few minutes have “personalitied* themselves into a partnership. All is well with the boys—but not for long. A large sum of money is found to be missing, and it seems that Bert and Bob are> the only answers. They decide that flight is safer than arguing, the matter over with any representatives of justice, and ne'e by joining: a cross-nation automobile race. That they know nothing otf automobile***, racing, cyoss-country loads and weather conditions mean nothing to tho retreating jesters. But xhey finally scamper into an audience-surprising, climax which is an epex in comedy effects.

There is an excellent supporting programme comprising. Pathe Newsreels, “Pals” (a cartoon), * Alickey’s Orphans” (a. Alickev Mouse Cartoon), and "Tho Count” (a Charlie Chaplia comedy).
