FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

ODIIFELLOWS’ LODG E. There was an excellent attendance at the meeting of Loyal Mangatainoka Lodge, M. IT.I .0.0. F., held last night. Bro. W. Ridley, N.G., presided. Accounts totalling £7 13s 6d were passed for payment. A transfer was granted a member now residing in another district. Correspondence was read from the District Hospital Association, inviting nominations lor offices or business for the annual meeting ot the Association. This matter was deferred until next meeting. A report was received m connection with the recent dance, which showed that the function had been very successful, socially and financially. It was resolved that the services ot the secretary of the dance committee be placed on record, also that a letter ot appreciation be forwarded to several ladies who assisted in connection with tire supper. After tin* Lodge had been formally closed, a commencement was made with tlie Park Challenge Shield competition. Refreshments were provided.

The Foresters’ Lodge will meet this evening and tlie Druids’ Order on Thursday night.
