A number of dances and a shop held in December all helped to improve the financial position of the Division a great deal. Lectures were given during the year by Mr F. White, of Tane, his subject being “The Stone of Destiny,” Mr Ivey, of Palmerston North, on Flock House and its work, and by Mrs C. Jackson (Dominion vice-presi-dent) on the aims and ideals of the Division, all of which were very much appreciated by the Division. “During the year the .Division has sent £5 to the Community Chest Housekeeper Fund, £3 to the Wairarapa Provincial Council, and £l3 spent on wages, etc*., locally as well as several other smaller amounts. There has been a fair demand for household guides during the year and 23 copies Have been sold. Several parcels of clothing and other assistance has been given the necessitous cases. “Thanks to the untiring efforts of the members under the guidance of their committee, the treasurer has reported the balance-sheet to be very satisfactory and the Division to be in a sound financial position . “In conclusion the committee would like to thank Mrs Kelsey, Mrs Whitcombe and Mrs Paterson for donations to the Division, the chairman of the Pahiatua County Council for the use of the Assembly Hall for the monthly meetings, the Pahiatua Herald, Mr J. R. Tait for auditing the books, Mr G. Oxley for the use of bis shop, Mrs A.
