BOWLING CLUB.
ACTIYITIES OF THE COMMITTEE
A meeting of the general committee of the Pahiatua Bowling Club was held yesterday afternoon at the pavilion, the president (Dr. H. Paterson) occupying the chair. There were also present—Messrs \V. R iin _ som. H. McSherry, J. E. Murphv, G. Russell. G. H. Hodd. H. Kelsey. YY . J. Mills and G. YY T . C'hatwin (secretary) .
Mr E. Baxter was re-appointed caretaker of the green. It was left to the chairman of the green committee (Mr Murphy) and the secretary as to when the caretaker is to start his duties.
Tlie same competitions and conditions ns last year will be conducted with the proviso that the selection committee have power to cancel one if there ale not sufficient entries. Two new memliers were elected Messrs South (snr.). and H. H. Chinl cry.
The action of the chairman of the green committee in obtaining a supply of top-dressing to mix with the lawn clippings and in having the lawnmower repaired was endorsed. The date of the opening day will he decided later by the preudeut secretary and green committee.
A large and willing band of members attended at the green yesterday afternoon constituting a virv busy working bee. The green was cut and rolled, the edges and surroundings cleaned up and everything put in order ready for all earlv openi n
