CROSSBRED DEMAND.

UNIFORM CLOTHS. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Cooyright. LONDON, September 3. Mr W. P. Devereux, representative of Australian wool growers, reports that the strong opening of the Sydney wool sales lias strengthened the European markets. Quotations in all centres have advanced to corresponding levels, while indications point to the maintenance of values and are all favourable. Some business has been done in merino tops, but rather more business in fine and medium crossbreds and increased business in crossbred yarn. Prices are moving against the buyer, and the demand for uniform cloths lias stimulated internal trade, but export trade is slow, while trade in France and Belgium is quiet. Generally the Continental futures markets have advanced 5 to 10 per cent. Transactions, however, are not heavy.
