SUM OE £SO DISAPPEARS. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. Banknotes and coin amounting to approximately £SO were stolen from a. butcher’s van in Courtenay Place on Saturday morning. At the time "the theft is thought to have been committed, there was a man sitting m the cab of the vehicle and there were hundreds of busy shoppers in the vicinity. The van was parked outside the Hvgrade Meat Company, and it is feared that the pioprietor and another man, prior to leaving for eastern suburbs, placed a bag and a eashbox containing approximately £SO inside, the van and shut the door. The proprietor then returned to his premises for a minute or so,' and having attended to. his businesj, drove off. with his companion accompanying him. The loss of ihe money was not noticed until some time afterward, when it was found the eashbox was empty.
