Alessrs Cosgrave and MacDermott are expected to make an important announcement on September 8 of a whirlwind campaign, following the rank and file ratification (5f the union of parties. General O’Duffy has been offered the Presidency instead of Mr Cosgrave in order to leave him free for outside campaigning while Air Cosgrave is occupied in the Dail.
