MAN FROM THE COWSHED.

POLICE TRACE FOOTMARKS. THE OWHANGO MURDER. Electric Telegraph—Press Association TAUMAR I'NUI, Last Night. So far no arrest has been made in connection with the Owhango murder. The police have traced the lootmarks of a man from tie cowshed across the ploughed field to the bank ”U the Whakapara river nearby. In addition to local police ai.d detectives, ten constables from other cistricts have arrived to take pare m the search for the missim- man. John Grylls, who occupied a vhare close to the cowshed, was employed by Mr D. Laing on the farm but Ins engagement wa s terminated an Triday last and he was to have vacated the whare to-day (Monuay). a Grylls was last seen at a dan- I which Miss Jean Rosoinau, tht vie-* tim, attended in Owhango on Saturday night. There has been no trace ol him since. The inquest on the body of Miss Rosoman was opened to-dav ai d after evidence of identification was given it was adjourned. The victim was apparent!,- shot through the head with a |»ea rifle. The bullet entered the head at the back of the ear-, c-omiug out on tee light side, below the eye. Mr Laing states that there was no gun on his property pr.tu to die tragedy. Miss Rosoman lived with her sister, Mrs Laing, for the pa.t 12 mouths and assisted with -be milking. Apparently- two shots were nrej, one of which missed, as two spent cartridge cases were lound by the police on the floor of the separator room. Tie fatal shot was tired through the wall of the separator room at the girl, who was standing in the open space near the door a few yards away washing cans.
