PONGAROA WOMEN'S INSTITUTE.

Tile Pongaroa W.I. held the August meeting in the Masonic Hall. Mrs Meech welcomed the president, Mrs Pickett, who presided at the meeting. An invitation was rece ed to attend the Rush group meet in •_ on August 29, several men bers stating their intention to be present. It was decided to make an Institute banner. At next meeting, members were a>lied to bring a small garment to make a parcel to be sent to an oipbanage. An invitation from the Presbyterian show committee to enter an exhibition of Institute work was accepted. The “bring and buy” stall in a.d of Federation funds realised 6s lid. The ■hostesses, Airs MacDonald, Misses Beatrice and Mary Kent, served a dainty afternoon tea. Miss Pickett gave an interesting demonstr. . on on chocolate paper pictures.
