ART UNION.
THE FIRST PRIZE-WINNER. Electric Telegrapn—Press Association WELLINGTON, Last Night. Who is J. Gladstone, winner of the first prize in My Lucky Chance art union? His address was given on the ticket as 53 Richmond Street, Petone, but two reporters who called there at different times on Saturday afternoon were told that Gladstone did not live there. A further reporter who visited the house to-day was informed that Gladstone was a friend at present unemployed. He had paid a fleeting visit to the house since the news of his success had been announced and had made a request that his whereabouts be concealed. He is believed to be one of a syndicate holding the ticket, although the ticket was taken out in his name.
T. A. Johnston, the winner of the third prize, has no share in it, having bought it on behalf of til r.;o friends.
