WEDDING
FORMER LOCAL RESIDENT. The wedding took place on Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church, Karori, of Bessie Alice, second daughter of Air and Airs A. J. Henderson. Karori, t 0 Cecil Thomas Vincent Duck, of Blenheim. The Rev. G. Y. AVoodwal'd officiated. The bride was given away by her father and wore a frock of white Rose Marie and ivory lace. Her veil was held in place by a coronation crown of orange blossom . and she carried a bouquet of cream roses, and pale pink carnations. The bridesmaid was Aliss Daisy Henderson, sister of the bride, who wore a frock of delphinium blue crepe de chine, trimmed with pink posies, and a blue crinoline hat to match! The flower girl, Doreen Mclntyre, wore a frock of primrose crepe de chine, with hat to match. Both carried bouquets to tone with their frocks, and wore the gifts of the bridegroom—gold armlets. Air F. Knight was best man. A reception was afterwards held at the Parish Hall. The mother of the bride, dressed in embroidered navy blue crepe de chine, with hat to match, received the guests. Later, Air and Airs Duck left for the honeymoon, the bride wearing a frock of fawn crepe Rose Alavie, and hat and coat to match, also a fox fur, a gift from the bridegroom.
