The winner’s time was seven hours, ten minutes and 1 3-5 seconds. The professional contest resulted: Ken Ross 1 R. Lamb 2, J. Brooker -3. Time, six hours, 39 minutes 45 seconds. In the amateur event 101 started, and 64 started in the professional heat. Dust and loose metal on the reads played havoc- with the riders, txie roadside at Mossvale 'being dotted with both professional and amateurs mending punctures and motor cars proceeding to Sydney were filled with competitors unable to continue the races CHRISTCHURCH. September 29. Over ninety nominations have been received fro the annual Timartt to Christchurch road race, which is to take place on Saturday next.
