WOOL, SKIN, AND HIDE SALE

Messrs. Abraham and Wiilliams Ltd., Palmerston N., report: —We held our usuel monthly sale of the above on Thursday 12th.. inst., when a good catalogue of all classes was offered to a full attendance of buyers. Competition was "good and everything sold readily. Wool: Mostly crutchings sold on a par with last sale. Sheepskins : —A very firm market ruled and prices frequently advanced Id to Id per lb. Salted skins were in good demand. Hides: —A very good enquiry for all weights at id to ljd advance. Yearlings and calf skins firm. Tallow: —Good general demand for lots in 'shipping order and broken parcels, at an advance of 20s per ton. We quote: — Wool: —X-bred oddments medium 16d ; x-bred inferior 14d to 15d ; dead wool 14d to l-sd; crutchings medium 13d; short and seedy 9d to lid; inferior BJd to 9i ; pieces lOd to 1 ltd. Sheepskins:—X-bred fine 17 pi, medium 16d. coarse 14Id to 15£d; lambs 16Jd; dead and damaged Hid to 15d; damp and salted skins, xbred, medium weights 13s 6d each, light 11s 6d to 12s 6d each. Hides: —Ox heavy llfd, medium llid, light llfd; cow, heavy llfd, medium 12}d, light 13Jd ; cut and inferior 9d to horse hides 12s 6d to 14s each. Calf skins: —Calf, good 17Jd, medium 16J ; stained 14d to 15fd; cut and inferior IQ-Jd to 13d. Yearlings 11 Id to llfd. Tallow: —In casks £.30 per ton; in tins £22 10s to £27 per ton.
