RAGE CLUB BALL NEXT FRIDAY’S FUNCTION. Scarcely is it necessarv to remind Die public of Pahiatua and district that the greatest social event ot the season —the Race Club Ball—transpires on Friday night. Already the Drill Hall is being transformed into a lilac© of beauty as befitting the brilliant nature of the gathering. From towns and districts very far removed from here visitors have signified their intention to be. present and there is every likelihood that this year’s function will eclipse even those of previous years, which is saying a lot. The committee is putting forth every effort to provide for the utter enjoyment of every patron and all arrangements are being promoted on the usual lavish scale. A special effort and a successful one at that, was made to secure the famous Columbian dance orchestra from Wellington whose delightful music is so often appreciated ‘‘on the air.” NEW FORD TRUCK. The new Model A Ford truck will be on exhibition in Pahiatua to-mor-row, at the garage of Messrs. A. H. Herbert and Co, Demonstrations will be given. BUTTER ON THE RISE. A cable received by Air G. Godfrey Taylor, secretary of the Konini Cooperative Dairy Co., states that N.Z. butter is now quoted on the London market at from 184 s to 186 s per cwt. 4 FORESTERS’ LODGE. Court Pahiatua.
