SOME WANGANUI OPINIONS. Electric Telegraph.—Press Association PALMERSTON N. Last Nigbli. Tho Wanganui Provincial Executive wrote to the Wellington Provincial executive of tlie Farmers' Union on Saturday asking for an opinion upon tho Arbitration Court and expressing views in favour of its abolition as at present constituted. Mr. F. Maul asked what would be put in its place if the Court was abolished. The chairman : “Better the de'il we know than the one we don’t.” Mr J. W. Mc-Leavey: “What we want is the abolition of preference to unionists.” The chairman agreed, ms prefierrence to unionists tended to lower efficiency. The letter was received in view of the fact that the mater is to be discussed ut the approaching union conference.
