DESPERATE PRISONER
HIS FOURTH ESCAPE. Electric Telegraph—Press Association SYDNEY, April 7. A prisoner, Herbert Stanley, • made a sensational escape from Davlinghurst courthouse. lie was brought from prison to receive sentence and was waiting in the corridor below the dock when be obtained permission from a constable to visit rhe -lavatory, failing to return. It was discovered he had made bis way up into an adjoining empty court through a trap door which had inadvertently been left open. Thence he reached the street and got clear away. This is Stanley’s fourth escape from custody. Twice he accomplished it by jumping from moving trains.
