SYDNEY’S LORD MAYOR SUSPENDED. FOR WELCOMING THE DUKE! (Received 11.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. The Lord Mayor (Mr Mostyn) who is also assistant-secretary of the electrical trades union, has been suspended by the organisation from the latter office for welcoming the Duke and Duchess of York “with all the pomp and splendour of the medieval ages” and in defiance of the mandate from the trades and Labour Council.
