EKETAHUNA SALE. The Wairarapa Farmers 1 Co-op. Assn., Ltd., Stock Department, report : On Thursday wo offered over 2000 head of all classes of sheep and about 90 head of cattle. The sheep included some exceptionally good lines of ewes in lamb and purebred Romney ewes, which attracted an attendance of buyers form all parts of the lianawatn, Southern Hawke’s Bay, Waira. rapa and Bush districts. The demand throughout was exceptionally keen,, with the result that record prices
wea-e realised, especially for good breeding ewes in lamb to Southdown. Mr J. Jewett’s stud Romneys were keenly • competed for, selling at from 21 guineas to 5.) guineas. Good dairy heifers and cows met with a geod inquiry and a good clearance was effected in the cattle pens. The sale throxighmit was coxisidered the liest ever held in these yards. The following will indicate values :—Account J. Jewett 152 4, 6-th and 4-yr Romney owes r.w. S.D. 48s, 73 do. 44s Id; account B. Morris, 49 4 year do 43s 9d ; account F. Isoix 155 4-yr do. 43s ; account Albi-ethson and Mason 47 do 39s 3d, 333 do. 375. On account other vendors 297 4vr do. 345, 22 do. 33s 6d. Several small lines of aged ewes in lamb made 18s 6d, 22s up to 24s sd; 29 Romney ewes r.w. Romney 4ls 6d, 50 2-th wethers 30s 6d, 78 m.s. woolly lambs (good) 295, 126 medium lambs 21s LOd, 64 small 2-th wethers 29s 6d, 15 2-tli stud Romney ewes r.w. stud Romney account J. Jewett 2£gns, 16 do. 2fgns, 5 do. 3gns, 6 2-shear do. Bgns, 20 do.
