SCHOOL CHILOREN INJURED COLLISION WITH TRAIN. Electric Telegraph—Press Association NAPIER, This Day. ! f A twelve-seater Char-a-banc, bringing 20 children to school from the Riverbend road, collided with the Eskdale train on the Taradale road, this morning. Several children were injured, some seriously. The car was cut in two, the back overhanging portion being taken clean, off. The railway track is in full view tor hundreds of yards, but apparently the driver failed to notice the train until within a few yards ; too late to avoid a smash. THE VICTIM S INJURIES DRIVER DID NOT SEE THE TRAIN. NAPIER, This Day. Three children are in hospital as the result of the char-a-banc accident. They are: Mavis Holder, <) years, a fractured right leg, abrasions and shock; Eric Holder, 13, fractured left leg; Eric Hodginson, 11, badly cut about jaw and mouth. All the other children escaped with shock.
It is stated the driver did not see the train until the children called out.
