MR. DOWNIE STEWART
AT PRIME MINISTER’S RIGHT
WELCOMED BACK. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, JULY 7. A special arrangement has been made in tins, House to enable the Han. W. Dbwnie Stewart to be wheeled into the Chamber and to remain in his chair at the right o-f the Prime Minister. The latter used a couch half the usual size to facilitate this arrangement and Mr Stewart under the special circumstances, is permitted to address Parliament without rising.
Mr Wilford this afternoon voiced the pleasure of members at seeing the Minister of Customs again in his place in the House. They sincerely hoped that the improvement! which was evident in his health would continue.
Mr Stewart replied that he was grateful for the kind remarks of the Leader of the Opposition.
