“NEW ZEALAND FIRST.” Electric Telegraph—Press Association INVERCARGILL, Last Night. In replying to expressions of si mpathy, the Hon. J. G. Coates stated this afternoon that Mr Massey’s condition was far from satisfactory and that the Prime Minister was much weaker. The Premier had a broad mind and a big heart and put New Zealand first all the time. He appreciated their references to Mr Alassev ‘as “a true Britisher and a great Imperialist” and would convey to Mrs Massey their expressions of sympathy.
