CANVASSER’S THEFTS
SEVER AI, CHARGES. Electric Telegraph—Press Association Auckland, February 12. A .series of thefts in countrv districts resulted in Patrick Joseph Cosgrave, a, canvasser, appearing in the Magistrate's Court ito-dav. He admitted twelve charges of theft of money, and on two of them was sentenced fo six months’ imprisonment, the terms to bo cumulative. He also pleaded guilty to six charges ot breaking and entering and theft, and w-as committed for sentence. Tn respect- to a further charge _of attempted theft front a dwelling it was stated that the owner found accused in her house when she returned. The total value of t'.lie property involved in all cases is about tloO, mostly cash.
