SHOOTING AFFRAY.
Electric Telegram —Pres. Association Timaru, This Day. There was a shooting affray at tlie wharf last night. William Jones, of the steamer Tlievosa, fired two shots, at John Stapleton, a seaman, wounding him ill the thumb. The revolver misfired when Jones was attempting a third shot. The incident was the sequel t» a quarrel at Newcastle. Jones was charged this morning with indicting grievous bodily harm on Stapleton and was remanded, till Wednesday.
