.Sevcii leading Wall Street bankers havei returned from Washington, where they had the first of a scries of conferences with President Harding. They arc convinced that the Government desires, above all tilings, to get out of business. The President is anxious to be shown the road to the financial rehabilitation of the country’s affairs. Cabinet is considering tremendous plans for reducing tbe United States’ debt, and the Allied debt. Air J. Pierpont Morgan headed tlie consultants. Other industrial business magnates will be called to Washington for further conferences. The New York hankers went into all the phases of foreign and domestic situations, and particularly emphasised tho necessity for United States and European rehabilitation, to provide an outlet for surplus American products'. It also considered helping American agriculture through tlie aid of hank capital.
