AN AMUSING CASE.
An amusing case Ihat came under his notice was mentioned by the Mayor at a mooting of the Palmerston North Patriotic Society. The secretary received a reply-paid telegram informing him that the sender, a relumed soldier was at I jv-vin seeing a doctor and asking that the price ot his train fare be sent down to Levin so (.lint ho could travel to Koput/uoa. The Mayor of Palmerston, in minting the incident, said that the secretary made enquiries and found that the train fare was the large sum or Bd. The telegram cost Is Id.
