CLEARING SALE AT EKETAHUNA.

The New Zealand Loon and Mer- j cantile Agency Company, Ltd., re- , port having held a highly successful sale of sheep, cattle,-etc., on account ci Mr Frank Haw 11 at Eketahuna, on Monday. Though the weather was anything but encouraging ,a large attendance of buyers from Manawatn, Pahiatua, Lower Valley, Masterton and surrounding districts were present, and bidding was exceptionally keen throughout- the sale, and the prices .realised, taking into considerathe quality of the stock, must have been a record for the district. Quotations : 140 2-tooth ewes, made 28s; 218 4-tootli ewes, 32s 4d; 225 0-tooth ewes, 32s 8d; 693 4 and 5-year ewes 36s 3d; 182 ewe hoggets, 18s 3d; cull ewe®, 17s; 2-tooth wethers, 24s 6d; small ewe lambs, 13s sdj small b.f. lambs, 16s 6d; 2i and 3-vear steers, £9 7s, £7 7s Od and £6 14s 6d; 18month heifers, £4 17s; weaner heifers, £3 Is to £3 11s; weaner steers, £3 5s to £4 17s Od ; store cows, £3 17s 6d to £5; cows in calf £6 to £6 17s Od; 2-year heifers, in calf, £4 8s to £4 19s Od; bull, £4 12s 6d; dogs, £4 ss, £4 10s, £5 os. Implements and sundries sold at full rates. Mr Hazell donated five lambs to the Red Cross Fund, and these realised £4 2s od.
