“LIL O LONDON.”
The London Filip Company ranks as one of the leading British motion picture producers, and the latest triumph is to be shown tit the King's Theatre for the first time to-night. It is entitled “Lil o’ London." nnd is a powerfully-constructed character drama of slum and society life in
“tin* hub of the world.” The story is adapted to the screen by Haloid Shaw from the book of Bannister Merwin. “Lil o' London ’is a quaint character. The pot tells how a young society man named Mordnunt find® a young girl and her tiny tot of a sister homeless and starving in the slump. He takes the waifs to his flat. His valet informs the young man’s mother .who objects strenuously to what she considers a breach of the conventionalities. The situation _ is relieved by a young lady, a particular friend of Mordaunt’s, adopting the children. The end of the play is gripping in its intensity, ami ranks as an artistic triumph. 'Hie Pahiatua A. and P. Show will live again in animated form on the screen, and those .who have been unable to witness this fine record should not miss the opportunity to-night and finally on Saturday evening. The supporting programme includes the Dramatic Mirror’s £IOOO prize play. "The Phantom Thief.” and the latest war pictures.
