PAHIATUA RAM FAIR.

DEMAND FOR LINCOLNS. The Pahiatua Ram Fair, held annually under the auspices of the Pahiatua A. and P. Association, took place on Saturday on the Pahiatua showgrounds. Very satisfactory entries were received, some 580 rants being submitted to the public by the operating brokers. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd.. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., and the New Zealand" Loan Co. The entry was considerably larger than last year, and rams were entered from all parts of the North Island and Canterbury. So far as quality __ and condition were .concerned there was some reason for complaint, for. with several marked exceptions, the offering was not lirst class. Lincoln- were in keenest demand and Romneys were quietly sought after, but lor Southdowns and other breeds the enquiry was lifeless. For flock rams the top prices were: On account Mr R. Haliburton, 1-shear Romneys, 12fgn.s; account H. R. Wilton. 1sheor, Lincolns, llgns; account J. E. 4 Hewitt. 1-shear Romneys. lOgns. The ’ entry of stud sheep was small, and the top price realised was for Messrs Forlong and Suisted’s Lincoln ram sold at 13gns. Details of the sales effected are as under: On account W. G.
