After a mass meeting, it Was decided to declare the strike on again, owing to alleged victimisation hy the dismissal of the shift bosses at Central mine. Picketing has been resumed, and Mr Pearce has been advised of the position. UNION SECRETARY’S DEATH. Adelaide. Last Night. Mr Lawrence Cohen, secretary of the Victorian Trades and Labour Council, was found dressed only in his singlet, beneath the window of a hotel, a drop of eighteen feet. He arrived from Broken Hill on the previous night, where he had been negotiating the strike settlement. STRIKE AGAIN OFF. SHIFT BOSSES RE-INSTATED. (Received this day at 9..'10 a.m.) Melbourne. This Day. Mr Pearce intervened in the Broken Hill strike. The shift bosses have been re-instated and the Committee has declared the strike off. The pickets have been withdrawn.
