Mr 0. 0. C. Oxley returned this week from a visit to Nelson and Mark borough districts. Mr and Mrs J. G. Brechin have returned from an enjoyable holiday spent at Caatlooliff, Wanganiui. Mr and Mrs E. Finch, of Pahiatua, have also been visiting the same place. Private If. J. Wakeman, late of the W.F.C.A. staff, Pahiatua, who joined the Ambulance Corps, underwent a successful operation for appendicitis in the Palmerston North Public Hospital yesterday. He is now reported to bo progressi n g favourably. Every day mkis out-of-town visitors at t)ie store of Messrs Oollinson and Cunninghame, where the firm’s twenty-second half-yearly colossal sale is now in progress. Saturday next • rids this value-giving event and though started some few days ago constant re-pricings keep the store always filled with bargains in the sense of the word.
