A FALL OF EARTH. Elec trio Telegraph—Press Association. Invercargill, Last Night. Henry Newton, aged forty, was killed in a fall of earth near Nightcaps to-day. He was undermining a bank when the face came away breaking liis back. He leaves a widow and eleven children. FOUNDATION COLLAPSES. Auckland, Last Night. A man named H. Wallace, employed on the foundations for a brifck wall in Gundry street, was buried beneath a fall of building material. It was stated at the inquest, that the foundations were not properly set. The Harbour Board dredge, Pnritutu, ran down a fishing bout, off the breakwater this morning. One of the occupants, Flinders Hursthouse, though only a short time in the water, succumbed to shock, being in a bad state of health. Ho was all elderly man and a brother of tho late C. Wilson Hursthouse.
