Small ro-current tires in Huntly mine have been completely mastered and the ventilating fans are in full working order, so that a continuous stream of fresh air is being sent below. The laxly of J. W. Jones has been recovered, making a death roll of 36. The mine is now said to be clear of gases, and the work of exploration is proceeding actively. Work will lx; resumed in the Extended and the other Huntly mine immediately, and in Ralphs, the scene of the'disaster, within two weeks. NATIONAL RELIEF FUND. Wellington, Last Night. A meeting of representative Labour men was held in the Trades Hall t > take stojio to relieve the distress in Huntly. A central committee was sot up, and it was decided to establish a national fund to he administered liy a committee. Similar committees are to lie appointed in each centre, a general appeal for subscriptions is to lie made and all Labour organisations approached.
