PRISONER SWALLOWS POISON. CONSTABLE S PROMPT ACTION. Electric Telegranh—Press Association Dunedin, This Day. Christopher Robinson, aged 28, married, when on the point of arrest by Constable Harvey at Warepa yesterday. on a charge of forging a £SO cheque, swallower! the contents of a bottle of poison. The constable hastily bundled the man into a trap and drove at a mad gallop to the nearest farm house a mile distant. There he forced emetics upon the prisoner, and kept this going till a doctor arrived. The prompt action of the Constable saved the man’s life.
