RIFLE SHOOTING.
KAITAWA v. PAHIATUA. A rifle match between teams representing the Kaitawa-Rongomai and Pahiatua Rifle Clubs was fired at the Kaitwa range yesterday. The weather was perfect, which made the out\ng very enjoyable. The home team r published a four point lead at tin. first range, with an increase of eight at the second, and thereby secured a verv meritorious win, the shooting bei.i)C ,i hgh order. Rifleman Bolton, of Pahiatua, put up the best individual aggregate and secured the only possible of the day. although he was run very close for the honour. Messrs Bolton and Cameron placed their cars at the Pahiatua Club’s disposal. At the end of the day’s sport Mr Waldin extended a warm ncitation for future, matches. Mr Cameron, the president of the visiting cJub, returned thanks for the hospitality shown, and congratulated the winners on their excellent performance. The usual cheers were given. PAHIATUA.
Majority for Kaitawa-Rongomai 12. By a strange coincidence each side scored .64 “bulls.” KAITAWA LADIES’ CLUB. The members of the Kaitawa Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club held another very evenly-contested competition yesterday, being the final snoot for Mr 0. Manson’s trophy, combined with the first for Miss L. 1. Ross’s trophy. The former trophy was won by Miss N. Kerridge. The individual scores, off the rifle were as follows: —- Mrs D. Ross 34 (possible 35), Mrs Bland 33, Misses F. Kerridge 33, E. Kerridge 33, 1. Ross 32, M. Stevenson 32, X. Kerridge 32, L. I. Ross 32. The season will be concluded next Wednesday, when two shoots will be held. After that date the members will concentrate their energy' in making arrangements for the annual social, which has been fixed for June 3rd.
