NEW BUILDINGS OPENED. Electric Telegraph—Press .Association Hastings. This Day. Heavy rain fell last night with the result that the going at the first day of the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club meeting will be heavy. The weather is now clearing, and the prospects are for a fine day. The Club’s new buildings. including grandstand (seating 1500), officials’ stand, tea kiosk and totalizators’ house, which were erected at a cost of £3500. will be opened, the Government being represented at the ceremony by the Hon. W. Fraser (Minister for Public Works) and the Hon. H. D. Bell (Minister for Internal Affairs), as well as a contingent representing both branches of the Legislature. Results are: — Longlands Hurdles: Cousin Jack 1, Lanisdorff 2. Papalitz 3. Scr.: Golden Water. Won easUy. Time, 3min 49 l-sseo. Okahu fell at the last jump. Maiden Hack Race: Rigopark 1, Hymen 2, Munje 3. Scr. : Aviation, Omanawo. King’s Host. Levonia, Black Powder. Won by two lengths. Time, limn 18sec. Porangahau Handicap: Valhalla 1, Lady Louisa 2, Day Fly 3. Scr. : Adroit, and Sauci. Won by a length. Time, lmin 25seo. BLENHEIM MEETING. Blenheim. This Day. The Blenheim-Marlborough Racing Chib’s Autumn meeting opened in fine weather. Results:— Maiden Hack Handicap: Hamiiakaka 1. Elevate 2. Achillas 3. Won by two lengths.
