DEMAND FOR FARMS.
PAHIATUA ATTRACTS BUYERS. GOOD PRICES RULING. The prices of good sheep country in the Pahiatua district, according to a' leading settler, range from £lO to £l3 per acre, and the best quality dairy land is bringng from £4O to £SO per acre. Second-grade land is selling at from £2O to £3O. The Pahiatua country is now attracting a good deal of attention from outsiders. Several have purchased farms here this season and others are making enquries. It is claimed by many teliahle farmers that the prices and quality of the land in the Pahiatua district compares more than favourably with those of Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu and Wairarapa. An instance occurred recently where one settler, after inspecting properties in the Manawatu and Hawke’s Bay districts, came to the conclusion that the best investment was in Pahiatua. and lie accordingly purchased a farm here. Sales of farm properties in the Pahiatua district are reported by Mr P. Tulloch, land and estate agent, as follow: —Mr S. E Warner’s property, Kaitawa. 112 acres, to Mr S. McLeod, of Mangaramaratna ; G. H. Wall’s property, at Pori, to Mr Steel, of Carterton. The latter sale was effected in conjunction with the W.F.C.A.
