TO CUT UP TURKEY IN ASIA. CONTRADICTORY REPORTS. AUSTRIA’S NAVAL PLUNGE. Electric Telegraph—Press Association Copyright. Vienna, Last Night. An article in a monthly magazine, alleged to have been founded on conversations with Count Aehrenthal, an Austrian statesman, states that the periodical renewals of the Triple Allience only refer to German and Austrian agreements with Italy, whereas the Austro-German agreement is renewed automatically until one or other Power gives notice of renunciation. The avowed purpose of the article is to promote co-operation between Berlin and Vienna with a view' to strong united action which is anticipated in the approaching partition of Turkey in Asia. The navy estimates propose an extraordinary vote of £6.000,000. Two super-Dreadnoughts will be laid down at the beginning of 1914, and two others in 1915. There is much discussion as to Austria’s relations with Germany, who is dissatisfied at Austria’s changeable Balkan policy, particularly in regard to Albania. Austria is jealous of Germany gaining new markets, while Austria has estranged her best customers. RUSSIA’S NAVAL BILL. St. Petersburg, Last Night. The Navy Estimates presented to the Duma total £26,800,(100. being an increase of £2.400,000, owing to the construction of Dreadnoughts.
