SOLWAY STOCK SALE.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:—We held our usual weekly sale at Solway yesterday, when we had a good yarding of sheep and a fair one of cattle, which we submitted to the usual attendance of buyers . Competition was hardly so animated as at the previous sales, this no doubt being on account of the continued dry weather; nevertheless we made a good clearance though at slightly reduced rates. The following were the chief sales: Two-tooth wethers 19s 6d. good hoggets 14s t<o 14s 7d. small do. 11s 4d, ewes with lambs at foot 14s to 18s 3d. mixed steers £2 13s. backward cows £2 15s 6d. Dalgety and Co.. Masterton. report having held their usual weekly sale at Solway on Wednesday, the Bth inst., when there was the usual attendance of buyers and only a fair entry of stock, which realised the following prices:—Mixed hoggets 15s. 2tooths 18s Id.
