A revised property list from Mr J. D. C. Crewe, land agent, will appear in to-morrow's issue. At the Masterton poultry show on Saturday last Mrs Biggar secured first prize for silver spangled Hamburgs, while Mr E. Dailey took first and special for Silver Wyandottes. We understand that Mr J. Falloon, •f Konini, has disposed of his property to a Palmerston North gentleman. It is rumoured that the section fetched the splendid price of £35 per acre. Great interest is being centred in the final football match for the O’Dowd banner between Pongaroa and Rakaunui, to be played at Makuri on Saturday afternoon next. Pongaroa is leading by one point. We are in receipt of a copy of the report of the Colonial Mutual Life Assurance Society, Limited, for the past year from Mr Colville, district agent. The report shows the bestresults for any year since 1891. Business in this district, is largely increasing. There was a fairly good attendance in the Olympic Theatre last night on the re-appearance of Mr Val Vousden, mimic, ventriloquist, vocalist and reciter. As a- ventriloquist he is facile princeps—in fact, in this respect, to slightly alter the time-honoured Shakesperian quotation: “Time cannot wither, nor custom stale his infinite variety.” His impersonation of “Airs O’Rourke” provoked hearty laughter, and his reciting of Bracken's “Not Understood,” and Shakespearian and other selections were deservedly applauded.
