The entries for the Poultry Society’s show now total I>o2, including SO lor the championship classes. The following tenders were roceiv<<d for the election of the caretaker's cottage at the gaswoi'Ks. There were two tenders required, one for “nil heart timber, another ordinary timber, the first price in each case is lor the "nil heart’’:- L. I. Wist (accepted). L3.V2 and 1:330; J. W. Cross. i.'37(i and i.3-V>. H. F. Holder. 1:300 and 1302. Mr Grifliu signed the contract loi his tender yesterday.
Mr. J. Fbbetl. of Napior-road. m tends taking a trip to the Old Country. and will leave in about a Usilnight. It is rumoured that nno,tier well known settler will accompany him.
All Rosenborg, of the well know I. firm of diapers, received wold yesterday o! th,' death of his mother in Wellington. Mr. Rosenberg will re eciie the heartfelt sympathy of nis many friends in Woodville and district in his sudden bereavement.
