Importance of Winter Feeding
Mr Potts, the Victorian chemist and dairy expert, is said to be in constant receipt of letters from milk suppliers, complaining about tbe generally low nature of their tests. The whole matter is a complete mystery, though Mr l’otis suggests the Victorian low avetage is due to the frame of tbe cows being impoverished during tbe winter, and to the necessity of the cows devoting their sustenance to building up of their own bodies instead of producing milk with it. 11c emphasises the necessity of providing food and shelter during the winter.
