L 835,000 for Railways,
Liord Kitchener acting on liis experience in the Soudau, has arrived at the conclusion that an extension of the South African railway will materially aid in the subjugation ot the enemy, and he lias applied that tne sum of £835,000 may be placed at his disposal for this service. His intention is to construct branch railway lines in various parts of the country making a lino to join the Natal Government Railway at Harnsmith to the Netherlands lino at Winburg,
