Ninth Contingent.
Dinedin, February 25
About 1 90 horses are expected to arrive at Forbury Park camp tomorrow for the South Island section of the Ninth Contingent. When these arrive, all but one squadron will be mounted. There was some unpleasantness at the Ninth Contingent camp yesterday, when some members of returned contingents were brought before the officers in command, for signing a memorial to the Right lion. R. J. Seddon, as Defence Minister, setting out that in the opinion of the memorialists, more commissions in the Ninth Contingent should be given to members of returned Contingents qualified to act a 3 officers. This breach of discipline was at once enquired into, but will have to be considered at a later stage.
