Tho fighting continued for several hours. Lioutonant-Colonol 11. O. Woodliouse, commanding tho third brigade, was severely wounded in the knee. The British lost ono killed and 14 wounded. The forces under Generals Elies and Blood have effected a junction. London, September 22. A strong detachment of cavalry lias boon ordered to proceed to India. Calcutta, September 22. Colonel Jeffreys lias completely cowed tho Moliraands.
