Gage Disqualified. The N. Z. Team. By Telegraph —Per Frees Association. Wellington, This Day. At the meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union l>. Gage, the well-known intercolonial player, was disqualified throughout the colony. There were nine complaints from the Wellington Union. A letter was read from Mr Hoben, ex secretary, stating that ho had never promised Otago or any other Union to pay the expenses of the players in the New Zealand team from the place of residence to Wellington. Two matches at Bathurst and Orange (New South Wales) were udded to the Australian progrumine. A. Bavley was chosen captain of the North Island team.
