Despatches received from the Viceroy state that the prospects in the famine districts in India are growing worse. [ln the second week of May the Viceroy telegraphed that 3,181,480 persons are now on relief, as against 2,883,000 in the previous month, including Native States—an increase of nearly 600,000.]
